Yoga is a type of exercise that promotes physical and mental well-being by combining elements of fitness, breathing, and meditation. Yoga is not about the poses themselves but the body's reaction to the poses. Yoga is not about what you can't do but what you can do. The power of yoga comes from the breath and it's one thing we all have in common. Breathwork was what first drew me to yoga and I found more than just physical benefits. Through the simple act of consciously breathing, we calm our nervous system and reduce anxiety and depression instantly. One of the most effective ones is the breathing technique, called Pranayama. It involves using your breath to control certain bodily functions and weight loss.
